Hi,
I am tossing up between UNSW and another uni regarding mechanical engineering in 2008.

What do you current engineering students think of the faculty? Are you satisfied with the teaching? With the subject matter? etc...

i do elec at UNSW and i like it. the teaching seems good so far - and although i can't speak for mech, in first year you mainly do maths/physics/computing anyway.

i selected UNSW because it has the largest engineering faculty, so the facilities are excellent, and it offers the most options for electives in 3rd and 4th years, so when i have worked out where my specific interests lie, UNSW is the most likely to cater for them.
