Like the fact that some of the content on this site is technically illegal ...

i got about 2,000 today hehehe
hmmm... i wondered iif you actually did get an email everytime i got one of those "There seems to be a problem with our database" messages...

(ahh the irony: i got one of them messages just when trying to post this)

about the uni stuff: i think at least 1 or 2 of the site admins go to UTS. bug the hell out of them, set up a competitor to csu's stooge "HSC online" thing. online schmonline.

(ahh and another error message. sorry tactic.)

---edit: the legality bits (reproducing commercial papers or whatever it is): perhaps you could host the grey area stuff on an independant server (such as this one)-- or host the forums (which i -think- cop alot of the traffic) on another server

some kind of ratings system for the material that people have submitted - bad medicine if it is crap and ppl use it anyway; also the bestest notes would get the most attention.
and maybe a clearer way of sorting it? eg by modules?

there's nothing illegal about the forums, which i think cop alot of traffic (people come in and mightn't leave for a while, whereas the resources bit of the site, people come in, download some papers/notes then leave). perhaps a uni could sponsor the forums and put them on there servers, or find another server for them... which you did for a while when the ozlpn.com one crashed a month or so back... split the traffic...

in regards to site improvements, a search function so you could search the entire board, or a particular forum or particular threads for a string of text -- eg if you remembered someone posted something about the '1998 2 unit maths hsc paper' but didnt know if it was in one of the maths forums or in the school forum or somewhere completely different.

I was thinking about this the other day which is why im posting this question now. Did there use to be a section on the front page where it showed members birthdays? I seem to remember something like that but im not sure.

Someone like to clarify?
