Technically a Fail, but they bumped you up to a Pass.

Yeah, basically you should have failed, but they were feeling nice. It's essentially the lowest you can get without actually failing.

A Fail but u get 3 credits 4 it. A Pass with only 1 point 4 the GPA. That's the difference .

At unsw, if u get a course mark between 45-49 (inclusive) then you may be given a PC, but it depends on your WAM.
It can also depend on what type of course it is, if its a core course that is a prerequisite for other future courses, or if it's just a general education/elective (those shouldn't be failed anyways ).
