For me, I have learned that I am a one-day deadline person. During these last minutes, I am going to pour out all my effort and the result is usually satisfactory. Then I will talk about it with someone (like in Exam Thoughts forum where I double my post counts in a week) and then realise I could improve next time. But next time never come, and I am just moving on.

One example is this one-night assessment task. I scored top marks on that assessment (note I rarely come first in that subject) and the teacher even admitted that he marked it really really hard. Then he photocopied my assessments as modal answer. That's because of my one-day deadline effort. Even if the teacher gave me two weeks to do, I am going to do it on the last day anyway, while my classmates will have more done on that time, thus I will not score the top mark.

After the teacher returned the assessment, we talk about it, and I realise there are a lot of areas where I can improve. But there will no assessment on that subject anymore for me.

Look, I have Mathematics Extension 1 HSC in 2 days, but I couldn't and wouldn't be able to study if the exam is not tomorrow or in 5 hours. This applied to all my other subjects and I have done just that. I am quite satisfactory with my attempts in HSC though after talking about it, I realise I could improve next time. But there will be no HSC next time for me. See the pattern there.

The funny thing is if I try to do it long before the deadline, most of the time will be wasted to procrastinate and planning (not doing). Then, I will still finish most of what needed to be done on the last minutes. I am going to be stuffed if I don't change this habit in university.

I haven't studied anything in my own time, everything I know is learned during the lesson at school; that's because I am also a wannabe perfectionist. I want to have the best notes, understand everything teachers say and even correct them, but well, it just ain't happening all that too often (It did happen though).

That's me. Just have to type a mini essay after the craziness of Math today. What do you guys have learned about yourself during your HSC?

I've learnt more about things other than myself, but I guess I've learnt I have the capability to procrastinate!

I've learnt that the HSC and the apparent stress that it brings to you is very much overated.

I have learnt, I am insanely bad at shopping for formal dresses with my mother, picking out instead of the lovely crimson red number with shaped breasts..... I picked THE CUPCAKE GOWN?!

Aside from looking like a cupcake, my ability to understand global politics shot up, whilst interest in History Extension/Historiography and Napoleon went down.

Social life also declined due to living 50 minutes from epicentre of social hub life (Newcastle) and studying. Alcohol units also down.

A stronger love for Sarah Blasko [What the Sea Wants, the Sea Shall Have has saved me] and newfound adoration for most metal bands.

Myspace is also an amazing way to loose all physical social skills, though there's some great networking opportunities.

I really do get bored though :(

- i am shit at maths and always will be
- i have developed a much more heightened interest in history (particularly, the cold war, for some reason. and communism in particular)
- i am incurably lazy/procrastinating
- i can get v good marks with remarkably little study
- i feel no guilt about it
- and it may fuck me over in the hsc
- i'm a better public speaker than i give myself credit for
- i stress out easily
- but i get over it just as quickly
- in relation to this: i have learned the ability to suppress unwanted emotions, whether or not this is good or bad i have yet to know
- i have learned that for all my suppoesed intelligence there are at least 4000000000000 ppl smarter.

That I am an extremely skilled procrastinator.
That sleep is a luxury - cause I do my assessments last minute.
As time goes by, I care less and less about the HSC.
That my pen always run out of ink in english papers.
That the HSC year is a great time to socialise and make new friends.

And I have learnt that I can quickly erase all the things I have learnt the minute after the exam has finished.
