yeah i liked them... i also like the tomorrow series and a couple of anne mccaffrey's fantasy series.

and these aren't really series, i don't think, but they're linked:
- charles de lint: moonheart, yarrow and greenmantle
- jeffrey archer: the prodigal daughter and shall we tell the president?
- and kyle mills: the one that has phoenix rising, sphere of influence etc.

His dark materials consists of three books and each one takes place in a different world (or more in 2 & 3). There are parrallel universes you see and its quite a complicated plot so youll have to read it i guess lol.

The original Dune series. I'm only up to Book four, and I'd have to say, his books have an excellent writing style. Unlike his son's books, which seems to be a load of crap created by the pathetic mind of that hacky SF writer who will murder Star Wars on a whim. Kevin J Anderson. Loathe him.

Hmmm... a lot of people are mentioning the tomorrow series, and a lot of people I know like the series, but do you all know that there is a series that follows on from the end of the war? :)
"While I Live" is the name of the first one, it was the only one that was released out of the new series since I last checked, there's still a fair bit of action in it because resolution of the war was to create a border between the conflicting countries. Interestingly enough, the border is right near Ellie's house :)
