Does late 20th century include the 1950s because I've got a book here which says it does. I need to know because one of the texts I'm doing was written in the 1950s but is set in the future so is that ok?

Yes it could - it's basically the period after WWII when it was evident that the "global" was emerging.

It depends how far into the future it is set. What text is it?
