what is the influence of heat and light on the conductivity of semiconductors?

heat and light affect the conductivity of semiconductors by increasing it.

As energy is applied to the electrons of the atoms in a semiconducting material they are able to jump from the valency band acroos the forbidden gap and into the conduction band.

um i think explanation it's better
also there is another way to understand like :
explanation of the effect of heat on semiconductors and
explanation of the effect of light on semiconductors

both heat and energy provide electrons with kinetic energy to jump from the valence to the conduction band thus impproving it's conducting properties
