I'm loving the variety of books people are posting here.

Next person to say Harry Potter because it's all that they read, though, will get a complimentary kick in the nuts from me.

:)

Lol! I like you, jhakka.
And I agree, it's cool seeing the huge variety...
Just wondering though, has anyone else read anything by Jostein Gaarder? I didn't see anyone reply with a 'favourite book' by him :mad1: That makes me feel sad.

Oh my, great list Enzyme.
I knew I forgot a whole lot from my previous little list. Out of yours, I loved these:

Saving Francesca
Looking For Alibrandi
Feeling Sorry For Celia
Finding Cassie Crazy
Jessica
The Red Tree
And Deltora Quest and Sisterhood of The Travelling Pants series.

I'm not a fan of either Ms. Austen or HP, as sad as that might be.

"Emily Rodda" is the pen name of Jennifer Rowe and "Lian Hearn" is the pen name of Gillian Rubinstein.

Thankyou for appreciating my list :)
Really? I used to work in a bookshop, and the owner told me that little piece of information about Emily Rodda/Lian Hearn...
How awful that she was misled!
And how embarrassing for me... oh well. Thankyou for enlightening me :)

You're welcome, love how varied your tastes are.

Which store did you work at? Personally, I'd like to work at Borders, you get walkie talkies.

I thought that Emily Rodda was actually a real name until you brought it up. Looks like we were both misled.

:) I know, I read aaall the time... and I always have- too much to be restricted to one main genre... I just love everything. Although not much sci-fi...

I worked at the Top Bookshop, it's quite small, privately owned in my area... I would LOVE to work at Borders! It'd be so awesome... gosh, so many books.

Favourite Book(s) of All Time!!

Hey everyone!
Couldn't find a thread on this (quite surprised actually) so i decided to make one!
Feel free to post in with as many books as are your favourite, i know i have trouble limiting it!
And update posts if you read a new one that you love, post it on even if you have already posted your favourites!

As for me:

Absolutly Love and Could read non-stop:
Lord of the Rings
Harry Potter books (although no. 6 wasn't so great)
The outsiders - S.E Hinton
Tales of the Otori - Lian Hearn
The Kite Runner - Khaled Husseini
Discworld Novels - Terry Pratchet

Other Favs:
The Axis Trilogy - Robyn Hobb (I think...)
Life of Pi - Yann Martel
The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold
Hercule Poirot Novels - Agatha Christie
The Obernewton Chronicles - ???
Collected Short Stories - Peter Carey
Le Petit Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden

Thats all i can think of right now, but i am sure i will think of more in the future!

Post away!

The threads have been merged.

Also, The Axis Trilogy was by Sara Douglass, and The Obernewtyn Chronicles was by Isobelle Carmody. :)

Rozencrantz and Guildenstern are dead - Tom Stoppard.
It's actually a play, but its good nonetheless.

Also, Lord of the Flies (can't remember the author) must have been very well written because it had a huge effect on me. I hated it though, absolutly sickening i think.
