This will happen provided you haven't written another answer down, you may get like 1 mark for it if you're lucky tho if you have.
Of course you can't get full marks, but my teacher is a very experienced HSC marker and she said that if you were on the right track enough to get a mark but crossed it out and started doing incorrect working they would give you a mark for the stuff you crossed out.

They look to give you marks not deduct. (confirmed with many HSC markers)

It's actually been around 72-74/100 for a band 6 in chem according to previous years.
