do not repeat. try looking for other pathways. I'm sure there are some for teaching especially seeing as the demand in getting higher yet people aren't really going to that field.

looks like the humanity subjects are coming through this year with the top UAIs.... the two people i have seen get 100s have got top english and SAC marks...

i got 98.15, SAM said something near there....all year wasnt sure wat i was gunna get, english assessment for me was 77 then exam mark of 86 (overall 82, if i had english of 90 SAM says 99.95 UAI :( i hate english!

ya me too!!! i got 98.15....and english was what brought it down. but i guess i'm pretty happy anyway.

Ha, you got 69.15? Well I got 68.70 so there's no need to cry. One of my friends who I was really expecting to get high 80's got 65.40. I was one of those students who should have achieved high 80's but I didn't put enough effort, obviously it reflects.

It's pointless going back. As for me, I still have hope I have another chance to make it in my last preference. If not, well I'll make a few enquiries or last way, TAFE then to University.

It's makes you realise you got to work harder and that's what I aim to do.

Everyone aims make it to University right? Well if you make it, your UAI will be a thing of the past.

The reason scaling occurs is because people perform better in some subjects than others.... There's nothing unfair about it what-so-ever unless you want to make-believe that all the students doing humanities subjects are just smarter than the maths students?

I got 81! I always said that if I got below 80 I would be devastated, and then yesterday when I saw my marks I was sure I would get around 76. So 81 is ok. Now I hope upon hope that it'll get me into arts at UQ (I want to do that for a year and then transfer to speech pathology). The cutoff last year was 79.05, so hopefully it stays there. But the year before that it was 87! I've got more waiting to do...

NSW UAI: Oh wait. Drum roll.......... 100 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D!!!!!!!!!! SHIT YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahahahh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I have never been so happy and/or satisfied in my life. This year has been tough: with me having to move out of home due to an abusive family, etc. I just wanted to show them that I can make it on my own and I did. THis is truly the happiest moment ever.
But look here - http://www.uac.edu.au/pubs/pdf/2005-Table-A1.pdf
Says the highest 2005 UAI achieved by anyone studying Drama was 99.95 & the highest for PD/H/PE was 99.90.

Either you're bluffing or UAC have stuffed it up (not dismissing either!)

NO i didnt say that humanities students r smarter than maths n science ones i just think that the marks for say extension english and extension maths shuld b scaled the same because they are equally as challenging in different ways.

this is bullshit

its interesting to see how UAC decides everyones UAI's based on their choice of subjects, did anyone who did art/hospitality get over 90?? I bet you didnt, and its crap, those subjects are not any easier than others, they are just different, art for example, is exactly like history, but both ancient and modern are scaled better than it.

ALSO, since im on a whinge roll, i'd like to say that i think its crap that art students dont get their major work raw marks, ext 2 does, so whats the difference? i guess its a harder subject so they deserve the mark.

Everyone who didnt get a good UAI, dont stress, you can always take a year off, transfer, whatever, its not the end of the world, do you think when you graduate people will still be asking 'what was your UAI?'. I wish the entire class of 2005 the best of luck and i hope youre happy whichever path you choose to take. :)
