Medentry, also face2 face is quite good.

I would do face2face first as you recieve physical materials which you can use again the following year. Unlike medentry which is online, however it is the most popular course and is recommended by many.

How long will I need to prepare for the 2009 UMAT test using a UMAT prep course? (Ball park figure if possible :p)

Umm I'd say 3 hours per week (sunday from 4pm to 7pm?) til the exam. That should be enough.

From now? or from when?

Is there enough material in one prep course to work for that long?

Well 3 hours is like one exam. You can do medentry and tell a friend to do F2f or whatever. you can share resources? plus there are like homewerk and drills and stuff to do. as well as reading the material.
yeah start from now.

either medentry or f2f is fine. i would recommend medentry because it provides you with ongoing support, analysis of your results, forums for discussion (and a good place to procrastinate), strategies S/T and L/T leading up to the exam (tho f2f probably have this too on paper) etc etc.

just don't bother with dallas. unless for sympathy's sake.

what the heck. if you start at the beginning of y12 and maintain a few hrs every week it's more than enough. what you are (that is, the OP) suggesting is freaky to say the least.

Wow, good on you for the good intentions and good luck to you in following through with it. Might I suggest decreasing the frequency of your prep whilst increasing the length (although this could wait until sometime when you are in year 12) - it will get you used to concentrating on UMAT type exercises for an extended period of time. Personally, I didn't start doing UMAT prep until the April hols before the test and did a full practice exam (3 hours) each Saturday afternoon.
