I think its 80+ percentile.
And i'm guessing if you don't get that you would need a higher ATAR than required?

lol no way, 80th percentile can scrape you a med interview

i know some ppl who got into optom with ~60th (~97 atar)

what options do you have if they reject you? Can you do the umat again or do you have to enroll for a different course.

It's your choice. If you want to do Optometry, you can choose to resit the umat the following year, whilst doing another course or take a gap year, assuming that you achieved the atar cut off also.

3 options:

1. take gap year and resit umat
-lets you keep your atar, no stress of getting high marks in uni
-risk of 'wasting' a year
-takes 6 years minimum

2. do bsc (vision science), resit umat then transfer into bsc(vision sc)/b optom
-quickest method, finish uni in 5 years
-do something relevant and useful for a year

3. do something else then try agen
-gives you most options if you don't get into optom
-takes 6 years minimum

methods 1 and 3 require an atar of 95+, method 2 requires 90+

if you don't satisfy these reqs. and you still want optom then you'd have to repeat the hsc
