Back on topic, the other cars which are "cool" for P-platers would be the usual BMW coupes/convertibles (I'd go 125i if I was on P's; but the 325i looks hotter) and other luxury cars. Closest thing to sports cars would be a Type R Honda of some sort or the aforementioned S2000 otherwise you'll need exemptions.

all porsches/skylines Z cars from nissan, are high 6s and also require exemption in nsw.

and the boxster has a flat 6
