I think in person is so much more personal. A guy i no actualy asked out one of my friends today!!! Yay for her!!!

I think it depends on the person, I was asked out online by a guy from uni, I don't blame him, he could never get me alone since I always had some of my friends around. But then i'm not the type to fuss over such things, I guess some people would find it impersonal.
