Can anyone please tell me what its like studying several subjects at UNE? I thought that uni was meant for studying one subject and specialising in it, but then i discovered that people do more than 1? I'd like do law next year and was wondering whether its normal to be studing a few other subjects through arts at the same time?

For those straight out of high school, if you want to study law at UNE (and the majority of other unis around the country), you will have to complete a double degree. This means that you complete a law degree and a degree in another field. This other field could be in:

Bachelor of Agriculture
Bachelor of Arts
Bachelor of Commerce
Bachelor of Computer Science
Bachelor of Economics
Bachelor of Environmental Science
Bachelor of Financial Administration
Bachelor of Science

Within the arts field, you may also be able to major in more than one subject (I certainly did). I recommend that you take a look on UNE's website: www.une.edu.au for more information.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you need more advice.

You can certainly do more than 24 cp (credit points) per semester though. 24 is the usual, but lots of people I know are doing 30 or even 36, which will get you through the course much faster.

I do 4 units, which makes my class time 12 hours per week.
