nothing beats our skool.. our year co-ordinator kept telling us the HSC finishes on the 15th and our formal is scheduled on that as well.. she finally got the point when she realised it ended on the 17th.. 5 days after we kept telling her
Yeah, our formal is on the 16th, and they've already paid a large deposit. No one listened to me when I told them the HSC would be starting later than usual, and henceforth running later.
And if the HSC timetable follows it's usual trend, and Visual Arts is on the last day - there's no way I'm going to my formal the night before. Sorry, but my HSC is more important.
They can't
not change it really. It's completely unfair.
1. Students shouldn't have to be worrying about their HSC exams the day of their formal.
2. Students shouldn't have to be worrying about their formal the day of an exam.
If it's usual and Visual Arts, Economics, Drama etc are last up.... those kids are going to be stuffed at my school. What are they going to do, rock up on the Friday morning after they've been out all night getting drunk? (And they WILL be getting drunk. No questions asked)
Sigh. I'm sure the teachers of those subjects will be pissed off too. You don't hassle kids to work all year long for the absolute final (and most important) assesment day to arrive, and have them all unfocused.... thinking about going to get their hair done, getting ready for their formal etc.... or slightly hung over from the night before. Our school is low-acheiving enough as it is.
Tch tch. The school still doesn't know. I've printed out the BOS announcement and will have to show the co-ordinator next week. Sure, it's not 100% definite until they release the timetable, but the HSC WILL be starting on the 19th of October, and it always goes for four weeks. Even if it finishes on the 16th of November, that's still the day of our formal.
I know my grade well and I know what their number one priority would be.
And it doesn't involve 10 minutes reading time.
