Hello there, i believe this thread was directed at me. I am not here to cause trouble, just to discuss my thoughts and opinions, which most of you share on this forum.
In comparison to the other things posted on this forum, my content is far less damaging.
Are you trying to impede my freedom of speech?

Freedom of speech is too much when Radical clerics like Sheikh Hilaly, Sheik Bilal Dannoun, Melbourne-based Mohammed Omran and Harun Mehicivic; Sydney's Abdul Salam Mohammed Zoud, Hatim Eissa, Khaled Eissa and Feiz Mohammed and Canberra's Mohammed Swaiti are allowed to preach their vitriolic hate speech against westerner and openly preach for the killings of non muslims.

i agree.

but as always, when you give people the freedom to do anything, some will always push it to the limit, even to the point where it becomes an abuse of the system.

i guess we do have a freedom of speech when we compare ourselves to some of the other countries where they don't believe in it, such as china, african nations, muslim nations, basically countries where they acquire 100% control of the nation, freedom of speech is one of those first things they take away.

what does "incite violence" even mean? can i strongly criticise a religion/political belief without inciting violence against those who follow it? and if so, whose responsibility is it show that i'm not actually inciting violence against the followers? am i innocent until proven guilty or guilty until proven innocent?

(I'm hinting at the ethics of VIC's religious vilification legislation, and how it has been applied at VCAT over the last few years... sorry if I'm hijacking your thread).

Australia has an adversarial system, so innocent until proven guilty.

In my opinion, critisizing religion or political beliefs with some sort of reason would be fine. It's when you start going "DEATH TO [insert group here]" that it gets seen as inciting violence. :/ I mean really, it's how you say something. It's not hard to spot.

free speech is free speech. sure, some people may waste it on idiotic bigoted opinions, but they are welcome to them.

i started this thread with the expectation of it being deleted along with the other useless threads. yet, this moron decides to turn it into a racial/religious debate.

Exactly correct. Nowhere in the world does there exist a free market, and nowhere in the world does there exist free speech. To say "Free speech (with restrictions)" contradicts the very terminology.
