I agree with everyone who said it depends on maturity, not age.

However, I'd set the bar at somewhere around 16. 13 or 14 year-olds having sex is a little wrong.

As everyone else has said, it all depends on the maturity level. That said, I dont think you're mature enough to handle the possible consequences of sex around 14. While I think that, for me, losing my virginity was not a big thing, I am really glad I lost it to someone who I loved at the time. I was 15 or 16 (I cant remember now for sure).

I think I was 15-16 when I first had sex. 19 now, and was with the same girl up until around a month ago (bout a 3 yr relationship).

I reckon 15-16 is probably a good age, like most other people here.

its not cliche, I don't think.

When I'm a parent, I want to have had a good open relationship with my son or daughter. If they ever had the courage to tell me that sort of stuff, I'd also know my kids well enough to whether be worried or not.

i completely agree. i've had so many talks with other asian friends about how we're going to be the best non-asian parents evaaar

my dad obviously thinks i'm too young/"immature" to be having sex ... he and my stepmum are going overseas next week, and he told me that if our neighbours see me bringing anyone that isn't a family member home, they'll tell him, and he'll kill me
