sleeping in my room.
when UAI requirements goes up does that mean the university think that the current year 12 is goin to perform (averagewise) better than the previous year?

or is the increase only due to supply and demand..
for eg, last year they had too many students wanting to come to a course, so this year they rise it..?

edit : or is it due to a combination of both? or more?

lol it is 1.30am dude so not many people are on who could answer

its got to do with both supply and demand and the cailbre of students that apply.

eg if in 2001 UAI of arts was 70 and everone who apply for it had UAIs of over 80 then in 2002 the courses UAI would be alot higher

The UAI is a rank - you really can't have more people achieving high ranks in one year than in another.

the uai requirements go up for two reasons:
1. the number of hecs seats decreses, therefore the cut-off uai will be of a higher uai.
2. the populrity of some courses in recent years. thinking back to the IT boom, where i am sure the cut-offs for IT related courses would have gone up.
they both intertwine with each other.
