Where did you get the scaling data? From the Board of Studies??
Is it available to the public (eg me)?

Yes. All data was obtained from documents produced by the Board of Studies and the Technical Committee on Scaling. Whilst they're all publicly available, they're not all easy to obtain.

That isn't difficult to do... most developers of UAI calculators seem to take that approach. Initially, at least.

But did you guys use ONLY tablea3.pdf? That's a document I found a year ago.. I haven't bothered going to the Board site since.
I believe you have more detailted resources, don't you?

No, SAM uses more than just Table A3.

It was also vBulletin, but v2.0. We haven't yet finished customising this version.

Yes, but they were generally used as testing data, not training data.

hmm.. I don't really know about the variables that determine UAI. I thought the UAI is determined as a function of raw mark (so for example, raw mark is the x-axis and UAI is the f(x) or y-axis). Can you explain what aggregate is?

Aggregate is the total of the 10 best units scaled marks, ie an aggregate of 467 is the same no matter if they did humanities or science subjects.

hmm... in calculating UAI don't you need to know the scaling factor first? And I believe the way a particular subject is scaled is NOT by multiplication with a constant (the same constant for whatever raw marks in that subject).

That's correct; a non-linear transformation is applied.
