From moderate right, to right, to far right

I don't think I was ever actually moderate right, it was more me thinking that conservative social views should come into the equation, along with not understanding half of what either ideology stood for.

I've become a bit more economic right after doing to economics. I was talking to one the pols girls about the endemic leftism in the arts. We decided that you learn the same economic theory. But in the arts you have more opportunity to write about the negatives of it, whereas (she was doing a gen ed in the commerce school) you get to write about the positives of it more often.

It's not exactly good if all the people in the tute all agree and there is no one there who will put up a fight for something resembling the right. I advanced one not left idea and some dinkbat whiny lefty (the most annoying type) jumped on what I said like it was evil. All I was doing was attempted to explain why something happened. I didnt say it was actually right.

I think we've all benefited from the diversity of opinions. Being exposed to alternate points of view really does make you reflect on your own more critically.

While I'm personally in the compassionate corner I'd be considered the most right wing in our tutes. A tad scary. I just find it disturbing that people are unwilling to accept the validity of the other side. In particular some people seem to start crying when anyone actually starts talking about the recongised benefits of the market. I find it pretty disturbing that arts students can graduate in politics and not understand basic economics.

Sometimes the tutor end up presenting the other side. The only guy who is opposed to all this lefism is about as smart as mathmite. All he does is make comments like 'Bloody Labor'...' Pfftt Keating'...'bloody socialists'...'bloody bleeding hearts'

hes hardly good enough to present an opposing view.

I find that often teachers, who seem to be fairly solid marxists, are willing to listen to a solid right of centre argument over your average student that mentions every time they put up their hand that they vote for the greens.

I got incredulous death stares when I did my Mabo speech in philosophy and talked about judicial activism

I think tonight he's just a bit right-wing insecure and gone off on a rant

But he has posted a few opinions recently that are actually critical of government policy - and good points - that aren't exactly typical right-wing mantras.
