ok. . . there's been a bit of debate about which paper is weighted more; some say 60% for paper 1 and 40% for paper 2, others say vice versa. . . anyone know??

isnt it 45 marks for paper 1 and 60 marks for paper 2 making a total of 105marks, which is then converted to a mark out of 100? Thats wat we were told at school...

Paper1= mark out of 45 converted to mark out of 40 eg 40% of exam

Paper2 = mark out of 60 stays as mark out of 60

therefore 40% + 60% = 100%

This came straight from the mouth of my Vice Principal who is an English teacher:

Paper 1 is 45% and Paper 2 is 55%.

Oh my day keeps getting better! :) After a fantastic Advanced paper today, I hear that it's worth more than the horrible Journey's paper on Monday! Yay! I'm so happy! :)

hmm, big debate indeed.

I've heard it's 40 for paper 1 and 60 for modules... but don't worry, just as long as you've tried your best!

I thought it as 45/105 for paper 1 and 60/105 for paper 2...then (105/(paper1+paper2) )*100...thats how our trials were done anyway.

This is correct.

I'm pretty sure it's 40% for Paper 1, 60% for Paper 2. Whilst I traditionally go better in Paper 2 (eg. Trials- 85% avg in Paper2, 73% avg in Paper1), I think today's exam was bad ><

paper 1 moderates paper 2, in that if you did good in journeys, this differentiates you from the people doing standard, ie. you derseve to be doing advanced, hence you get scaled up in paper 2. Vice versa for if you did crap in paper 1
