Kim, USyd requires a 5.5 GPA for consideration anyway (in the same way UNSW requires 95.00 UAI). Do you see where I'm heading? If you don't have the D average USyd probably won't take you on board.

Estel, a D average is VERY difficult to maintain over three years. It requires constant work and uni students are notorious for their incapability to adhere to such rigorous standards for the entire length of their degree.

Anyway, you're forgetting that even if you DO fail to maintain the average (and are subsequently dropped from the program) you will still come out with BSc (Adv) or BMedSc, and will still be eligible to apply through the normal (GAMSA) procedures. As I see it you've nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Yeah I know, that's what my reply was about! You've got nothing to lose by applying for the course and getting in, since if they drop you the only requirement that's different is the GAMSAT.

Be honest, you'd probably have gone for BSc (Adv) or BMedSc at USyd anyway!

Ok, the proper answer is "it depends on your course". The sensible answer is "Usyd wouldn't make getting into med easy". The [Danoz] direct answer is "those people who call it dead easy are either lying, deluded, or both".

All of the above apply. :)

Yeah it is hard, the only subject I even came close to a D in was Nano, and that's only because it's a dodge-easy subject. Everything else was C or P...

So i take it with the TSP not many people survive at all...
ahh well
HD av at ANU is 80... interesting...

"Usyd wouldn't make getting into med easy"
the pt i would believe for most ppl interested is whether or not it would be doable maintainin an 80WAM... doesn't have to be easy... but eso since checkin on USYD web site and 30 ppl in TSP... dat would mean I *think* substantial dropout

So basically what your both saying is take arts units to survive with a D/HD av? and don't bet a med degree on it?

That's not an HD average, that's the minimum score for an HD.

Just being pedantic. ;)

edit: Skywalker, you should have kept that. :p

GPA = 7.. would be psycho.. btw thats odd since in Adel u need 85+ for a HD

like im saying if ure doing a course u hav no interest in.. then unless ure a real freak dun expect to maintain a high D average..its very unrealistic..

like a BSc sounds ok.. but its still hard.. remember the UAI is a reflection on demand not course difficulty.. cos if it were.. then engineering in all unis would be 9x.xx and nothin would be below 70..

hmm and for the record, despite numerous pictures of me circulatin round on da net i actually AM a big gaybo...when i grow up i wanna be a urologist and do secret men's business! stuff gyno hehe

Oh what

You get to read deleted posts now? I've gotta be more careful with what I say.

Yeah I know it's funny, but if I told you names it's not like anyone would know who they are anyway.

Nah you don't need to be more careful, unless we hate you and undelete your posts to make you look like a dick.

But we're not like that. :uhhuh:
