Oh that guy. Of course! How can you not know him! Does he also have eyes and a mouth? You gotta love Lano and Woodley! Whose actually seen that episode when they are in the video store and they're like "Have you got the video with that guy, you know the guy with the nose, and the mouth and the eyes..."

But anyway, back to your question, I believe there will be another King Lear production in like August-September at the Figtree Theatre, If I'm not mistaking.

in a far far away galaxy.... !splat!....hmmm i don
wesley theatre was a waste of $$$$$$$

if you went to that english seminar thing at wesley theatre you would have heard those. That David Ritchie guy talked about it, though it was boring since i didn't read the text at that time last year.

the wesley theatre lecture is crap. the dude just kept on talking about the reverse oedipidal behaviour of the daughters. ( ie the daughter expressing the greater lluv for their father than their husbands. btw what is it called?)

yes, i gotta agree with you.

I went to the Gwen Harwood one - that one was okay, but basically i was taught the same things from my english teacher as 'Vivian' (still laughing at his name)

the King Lear one was not very good either. Mainly because (i think) not many students who attended have even read king lear before, the quality of the seminar wasn't good...

i've even heard that students 'walked out' of the Leunig seminar? LOL

Bondi Production

hahha, it's pretty funny reading all your people's reviews on the Bondi King Lear production. i went to go see it myself, i thought it was okay, except Cordelia kept on smiling, and regan's clothes were.... WAY TOO TIGHT! Goneril was okay, except her head was a bit big for her body, and Oswald should have cut his hair.
The use of the wheel was heaps smart, i thought it was great the many different ways they incorporated it in each scene...

The Fool was a crack up, haha gotta love his singing.

Why is everyone bagging out Edgar?! he was the only one that kept the Aussie accent, cause all those other actors tried to be English. I thought Edmund, Gloucester, Lear and Kent were the only people who could pull it off...

Cordelia should be sacked.

I'm doing King Lear, unfortunately I didn't manage to get to the performances that everyone seems to be talking about but people told me that it wasn't worth going to - is that true?

Also, does anyone think that King Lear should be classified as a difficult Module? It just seems like a normal module to our class and I'm wondering whether other people feel the same.

if you have one or two critics, and have seen one or two king lear productions on video, that'd be perfectly fine.

going to see the play personally is just beneficial, as it may help with your understanding of it..

Personally I don't like Module B (also doing Lear). It took me a while to even begin to understand what the module was about. I thought I had it covered and then I had an assessment on it last week, and I did quite badly. I just couldn't come up with anythin, which was a combination of both a mental blank as well as a bad understanding of the module. Hopefully by the trails and HSC I'll have it covered though.
And BTW, this isn't because I don't like the text. On the contarary, I actually quite enjoyed reading and watching various productions of Lear.
