Mad World - Gary Jules (although I really like Tears for Fears)

I disagree with the OP, Soft Cell's cover of Tainted Love was the best version. :)

There's Helter Skelter by Dana Fuchs from Across the Universe which was pretty good in itself too.

jeff buckley's cover of hallelujah is my favourite, followed up by all along the watch tower. Then probably Gary jules cover of mad world.
