Root minus 5 = 2.236 i (3 dp).

Nowadays, we just know it as complex, though.
Also, (-5)(1/2) = 2.2360679774998 i
Not v. difficult when you think about it. Oh, and 5(1/2) = same as above, just without 'i'.
