I did last year. You wouldn't want to base a whole argument around his account of Elizabeth though because he's obviously very biased etc. It was a challenge reading some of his work though- it's all in olde English which makes it a bit difficult to understand in places.

i know, that's what i'm worried about - not being able to understand what he writes in the first place, let alone contruscting an arguement using it. do you know where i can find some good notes?

I'm using Camden as a major orthodox historian for my essay in the trial. you need to know all the influecnes on Camden's writing and why he wrote in the Tacitean style.
e.g. Lord Burghley, Renaissance, King James
and especially the problems in translations of his work (it was initially written in Latin)
also understand why his work was published after El. died

Do you know of any major booksellers that would have Camden's works?
Local libraries out here only stock 'Thomas the Tank Engine' books and are as useful as a dictionary with an index. If you know of any could you tell us if there are some outlets in either Canberra or Wagga? Thanks.
