Hey, I just configured my laptop to get onto the Wireless gateway, and it seems to be working okay so far, but I was just wondering - am I the only one who can't get onto MSN? I'm guessing that the network blocks it?

It would probably be a firewall setting that they have. Test if you can access FTP or something that uses a port other than port 80. If you can't, then they only allow traffic through port 80 (which doesn't include MSN).

Next time you're on campus, try the web-based MSN client:

http://webmessenger.msn.com/

that will go through Port 80, so their firewall wont be able to block it.

Don't quote me but, the Uni uses a proxy server for all internet connections. IF you didn't set up MSN to use the proxy then it won't work AFAIK.

Opto, I was about to use a web-based MSN, but my laptop ran out of battery, lol. Thanks, guys.
