i just got a wireless home network, with netgear router and 108 mbps wireless cards. its pretty nice, the speeds are generally a bit slower than using a wired connection with my optus cable but i can live with that.

however, i can't live with continuously losing the connection. the worse thing is that it kicks me off, then i can't just disable and re-enable the network for it to work, i have to restart the computer. also, most programs have generally run slower since installing the wireless network... sometimes my winamp doesn't think i have a sound card.

need help, thx.

Got any firewalls running ? Anything that might hinder the connection?

108Mbps is the theoretical maximum, in reality it'll never really be that fast. A decent wired network would mostly always be faster.

If the wireless is dropping off alot, you can try things like changing the channel you are on (check router documentation) as others around you might be in the same channel and causing inteference.
