I suppose the idea of getting wireless internet is to use it on the move, so I guess the OP doesn't want the desktop modem.

but considering the only viable option to bigpond is iburst (correct me if i'm wrong)
I don't think you can surf on the go with unwired. Maybe if the threadstarter replied with something along the lines of "I'm going to use wireless for...", it might help a bit more

Still better than Unwired (Exetel gets its service from unwired through deregulation).
