So yeah, does MACQ have wireless capabilities ( 802.11b / centrino ) for notebook users on/off campus ?

i am interested in people who are living in the macq houses - do they have the net? do they get it by wireless?

The campus does not have wireless unlike UNSW.

From my memory, one of the housing villages has broadband, and another has broadband too, but you have to hook it up in wireless.

RMC has broadband (albeit for $25 per 200 meg) and so does DLC ($20 or $15 per 200 meg from memory). DLC has wireless in it's new wing.

which ever way you look at it, both colleges are an ABSOLUTE RIP OFF when it comes to internet. Students need the internet for vital things such as file sharing, music downloading and procrastinating on BOS...how are we meant to do that when they ration out bandwidth at those sort of prices.

The university is currently undergoing implementation/research for a wireless network for on campus internet. Stay tuned.

802.11b is obsolete now

But how many would bring a laptop/tablet pc to make MAC set up this feature ?
