Hey, same with me. We must be brothers.

Except that not having a job is only partially because I'm lazy. It's also because I'm unemployable.

I'm at uni 5 days a week, 13 hours of classes
Work at Best&Less as a casual. Mainly just 9-5 Sat and 3 hours on Thurs night, or if I ask for Sat off I get 10-4 Sunday. Might start skipping a lecture on Tuesdays and working every few weeks (I'd much rather work for 8 hours than be on a bus for 4 hours all-up and a 1hr lec)
Generally getting $90-130ish, plus my $200 fortnightly YA. Living at home for now.

Hey,
I'm writing a news story for my Comm. Skills class and I'm focussing on students and their financial situations, including work, youth alowance etc.

Would any of you be willing to answer a few questions?

Are you undertaking full-time or part-time enployment?

How many hours a week do you work?

How much money do your earn a week?

Why do you work?

Do you have any other forms of income, such as youth allowance or pocketmoney - how much does this contribute to?

Is this enough to manage while studying?

Do you feel like working affects your study?

Thank youuuuuuuuu.

There was a survey done addressing the above questions and was published on the morning herald with stats a couple of days ago.

How many days a week are you at uni? Typically five. Sometimes four.

How many days/hours a week do you work? Two or three days a week. At least once during the week, and at least once on weekends.

This semester I have upped it to one shift throughout the week, and both saturday and sunday. If my boss has a wednesday morning to give me.. I'll take that also.

Where do you work? Gloria Jeans. Its local, friendly and pays well now that i get sunday shifts.

How much do you roughly make a week & do you live out of home? If i work all day sunday I get about $250-300 for the week. Otherwise its around $150-200. I live at home, but try to only spend half to three quarters of my pay each week.

Oh god I love working sundays.
