Hey everyone,

This is by no means one of those sympathy threads but i have this really strong feeling that my law exams will cause me to fail both 'intro to law' and 'torts law'...i do really well in my assessments but the pressure of exams really puts me down and i know its something i need to continue to work on. Anyways, for next semester, if i fail these two law units does that mean i need to do them again in the spring semester or next year (by the way they are pre-requisites as are my upcoming spring semester units). I would just like to know for my own self-preparation and for the upcoming tute registration...thnx for any input. Good luck to everyone as well!

I'm sure that you haven't failed. Some subjects, if you fail the final exam, you still pass the subject (I don't know if this is for law). But if you did fail, you will need to do those two subjects again, if they are pre-requisities. But, it depends on how much the exams were worth, you may find that you pass the subject, even though you think that you screwed up your exam. If you do fail, theres no way you will be allowed to overload, so you'll have to add another semester to your degree. Or maybe if your struggling with exams, switch to part time. But really, don't worry so much.

If your struggling with exams, maybe you should speak to one of those people who help students with study for exams. I think you see the counsellor, I know that sounds dodgey :p or you can see your tutors for study advise for exams.

I'll just wait for the law people to add their own advise, as I know nothing about law :p

read your outline!!!!!
MAny lectureres will give some leeway for exams coz of the pressure and the time limits, so althoguh you may not be able to write an essay about a particular topic, answering the questions or a genuine attempt will give you a pass, definately. some units will look at your other assesments to determine how well you do to, e.g. finte maths, i failed the exam (i knew it) but got a good mark coz of my previous assesments (high marks).

about repeating units, if they are offered in spring you do them. if they are pre-reqs to antoehr course, you cant do the others until you do the pre-reqs. my friend who is on conditional enrolment is doing only one subject last sem coz of the pre-req rules.
hopefully you dont fail.

fingers crossed evryone!

im not sure about intro, i can't remember..

but i know for sure that torts you need 30/65 in the exam to pass the unit.

and i'll reiterate - READ THE OUTLINE:) its all in there. If you're still worried, email the course coordinator (is in the booklets we got at enrolment and in handbooks i think)
