Horrible horrible trial, it did specify what character you had to be and worst of all it picked shit characters and then made us write a letter! Um like wtf seriously? I had no quotes from Edmund and was seriously struggling to write anything that was ½ decent! Pfft I’m sooo over school

we got the letter about Edmond or Regan. terrible question, i think it undermines the whole course. it doesnt allow any interpretation of the text, themes or meaning of productions. limits it to a year ten charcter study. basically all my study was worthless except for a few edmond quotes

Not true. I agree it was a tough and stupid question, however I referred to how I would act the part as influenced by my study of certain interpretations: feminist and grotesque. I then referred to themes that support this and how they were displayed in productions that I viewed. All linking back to the purpose of outlining my view of the character and how I would play them.

good effort ^^^ i didn’t do any of that because i walked in expected it would be on interpretations and i made my own one up which didn’t focus or Edmund or Regan in any way, so it took me soo long to think about what scenes he was in ...eeek failed that section. i just emailed my english teacher she said u had to include his motivations and stuff like that.

no i really think you had to read into it more.
the question was awesome, we got to basically design our own production in a way, or stick to what we had seen in previous productions and you could definitely make interpretations.
I just mentioned how my interpretation (porn) mirrored the original. ie- King lear began a confident man in mine and ended up grovelling to women for sex, and in the original, he is an adult who becomes a child.
