bloody cssa trials.. always harder than the real thing
main theme is 'power', so talk about that.. by dramatist does it mean the actors?if it does then talk about staging of the play-- use peter brooke's one.. opening scene is quite good for that.

isnt it a bit late to be asking this? ahaha.. cssa trials tomrrow! good luck

of course its too late - we never got taught peter brookes, infact we didn't learn much

i'm dreading 2moro more than evar!!

hopefully its all straightforward questions..

edit:

actually - after considering the question for as long as the exam should take

i've made two connections

-edmund and his struggle for power - marxist and harlos production, would have to crap on a whole lot to make that a 20 marker

- lear and his inability to remain in power - granada (his extreme downfall - became really crazy) production, perhaps political tragedy.

wohoo i could crap on a little!!

hoho.. didnt learn brooke? whats with your school?
what other interpretations did you see then? RAN by akira kuroawa was good appropriation.. power struggles between hidetori(lear)'s sons.. also could crap on about the different cultural contexts- you know them markers, love values and context
Jonathan Miller's production was such a bore... i fell asleep so many times its not funny, i still havent finished watching it to this day
Lear is going to be the hardest of them all... and frontline the best! yeh go mike moore!

My school didnt do brooke either, or Eyre, or Kurasawa.
This is because my school couldnt get their hands on any copies. HOw shit is that?
So we had to do Olivier and Miller, which srsly, didnt leace much to write about in terms of readings or interpretations other than the fact that they were both Aristotlean.
So yea, everyone just went on BOS and took notes off others, but like, wat a waste of time doing those other vids in class.
Not only that, but my english went on holiday when we were supposed to learn this module, and so we were stuck with a sub. The sub was good though, cos he was the one that did all he could to find lear productions, and could only get Miller and Olivier.

Basically, i hate KL.

We did Miller, Eyre, Kotzinsev (I can't spell it) and Blessed.

They provide a good range...
Suitable for answering any question really well!
