Or alternatively, you can hang out on BoS and get all that information in the comfort of your own home. :p

Ok I came back an hour or so ago.

It was alright, wasnt boring and mostly talked about what kind of subjects to choose, how to choose subjects, what the UAI is etc... I already knew alot of the stuff but I did learn a few things. Though honestly if I actually knew what was in the thing I wouldnt have gone. My parents found it very useful though. Its true, if you read the BoS forums you should know most of the stuff.

Yeah, thats it really. Dont choose subjects based on scaling, do subjects you like, alot of emphasis on flexibility and choosing a wide range of subjects (dont specialise), etc.

don't specialise......
thats a good one cough bullshit cough
if you know what you like then go for it
i mean so many people choose physics chem and biology and they seem to do alright....
i went to one of those things just last month, only it was about uni's and the courses they offer and the approx. UAI required.... its really relevant and really voring t the same time....
but i scamed like 3 pens

Don't specialise is the worst advice I've heard - specialise - it's the HSC, you want to be (a) preparing for uni and (b) getting as high a UAI as possible - which relates to (a) - and a distant third (c) become an educated member of society

For (a) and (b) specialisation is the way to go - and for (c) either is fine - you either become very knowledgable in one area or not-so-knowledgable in many areas.

The only reason to diversify would be if you have no idea what you want to do at uni and you have no interests... well if you're that apathetic why are you doing the HSC????

Specialise its the best:p

Dont Specialise as in keep your options wide, ofocurse if you want to do engineering you wouldnt do business studies, you do physics but who knows - maybe you didnt want to do biomedical engineering before but after entering uni you wanted to do biomedical which has chemistry as assumed knowlegdem but ofcourse you didnt do chem in the HSC so your semi-fucked.. hope you guys know what I mean .
