I'm considering taking Drama next year.. Is it very time consuming? What's the balance of practical and theory? What's involved? Give me details! Not too much though

I'm wishing to do something like film/theatre production when i leave school.

the increase in work load: that's to be expected. but i thought it'd actually be rather time consuming.
