hahah i did no work in re or maths and my overall mark was so crap, but i still beat a lot of people, shows how lazy some people in my grade are.

Need to work on english a a fair bit, ecos chem and phys can improve, content with maths.

Just do well in your other subjects and you will be fine, don't worry your english mark is good You can improve

I got 12th out of 98 students in biology and i got a mark of 80.

depends how hard the test was... i think it's only the rank that matters... pretty sure...

Anyways, we got our report cards a few days ago... hmm, here are my marks

Exams:


Advanced English 69/100 (69 )
Rank (9/65)

Physics 75/100
Rank (6/30)

Maths 2 unit 88/100
Rank (6/65) ... my mark was actually quite lower, teacher scaled it up quite a bit... we had a darn hard 2unit test as compared to other schools. Messed it up majorly though... my assessment rank was 1st or 2nd before that test

Maths 3 unit 44/50
Rank (3/22) Again she scaled it...

Studies of religion 2 unit 73/100
Rank (2/12) I think the test was really out of 90...

Extension english, for one section i got the 2nd highest in class; but i misinterpreted the 2nd question so got equal last for that one (the guy who beat me on the first section misinterpreted it too ) 22/25 for first section; 5/25 for second... overall rank for exam 16/21

Chemistry 71/100 (10/28)

Not too bad for a half-assed effort

when you get a high rank and a low mark, that's likely that the exam was just hard. And it really depends on your school i guess, if your school does well in the HSC, then a high rank would mean u'd do well in hsc ^^ so i gues the rank matters the most... like last yr i think over half the ppl in the grade failed chem exam (below 50%), but that doesn't mean they did "bad" since it was a hard exam

A bit of both from me, there are some really intelligent people in my grade, but there are also a lot of jackasses.
