Hey everyone, I'm wondering if I can get some UAI estimates. Here's the data I have (the assessment tasks rankings are from July, before some of the tasks were done, as shown by the weighting that has been completed)

Biology
77% on assessment tasks (which only has a weighting of 65%), ranked 5th/25
83% in the trials (catholic), ranked 3rd/25 (this is ONLY for the trial, not including previous assessment marks, and is the case for all the below makrs)

Chemistry
92% on assessment tasks (weighting of 45%), ranked 2nd/28
76% in the trials (catholic), don't know my ranking but the average was about 60%

Drama
84% on assessment tasks (weighting of 40%), ranked 2nd/16
Trial IP Performance=18/20, ranked 2nd/16, Trial GP Performance=19/20, ranked equal 1st/16
Haven't received my mark on the written trial (catholic) yet

Advanced English
91% on assessment tasks (weighting of 55%), ranked 4th/78
84% in AOS Trial (catholic) and 78% in paper 2 (catholic), don't know the ranking but the average was about 60%

IPT (my bum subject, which is the one that probably won't count- my teacher is a crackpot)
85% on assessment tasks (weighting of 55%), ranked 3/14
67.5% in trials (catholic), don't know ranking but the average is 57% (like I said, bum subject at our school :p)

Mathematics
70% on assessment tasks (weighting of 60%), ranked 13/56, but this includes the ext students and crazy accelerants
71% in trials, which was top of the 34 2 unit students, but only ranked 23/56 with ext students and accelerants

I go to SCEGGS Darlinghurst, which apparently is ranked well. If someone can give me an idea of what UAI to expect, that would be great :)

you are not going to get low 60s (provided of course you dont bum out the externals) your ranks are good and your school is top 50 ( i think)

Except that statistically speaking (looking at the past 3 years of SCEGGS HSC results), about 50% of a class of about 100 gets a UAI of over 90, while about 33% get over 95. Since my rankings indicate I'm in the top half of every subject (and IPT won't be counting), isn't it fair to say I have a chance at getting 90+?

These are last year's results:

"Overall, it appears that we gained the following:

10 girls over 99; ie 10% in the top 1%
19 girls over 98; ie 18% in the top 2%
37 girls over 95; ie 36% in the top 5%
50 girls over 90; ie 48% in the top 10%"

COOL!

I only have to get like 84 for a BA at Sydney Uni, so not too much pressure :)

Also, my school was ranked 10th last year I think. Please does anyone else have anymore estimates? I've only gotten like 2 real ones!

ok u want another theory 4 ur UAI...
well contnue to gte 90s 4 ur hsc exam and u will be garanteed 90 ok
but if u slip.....................................
u could drop to late 70s if ur hsc raw mark 4 each subject is bad

looking at those ranks im sure your looking in the vicinity of 90 - 97 .. no doubts about it..
and that freak who said low 60's must be doing his/her hsc on some other planet!

thats basically te case for every1. if you do well in the externals (remember its 50% of the whole thing RAW), then you can get 80+ easily.

Update

I've now calculated my internal (raw, unscaled) marks. I don't know my rankings, but I'm pretty sure I'm in the top 10 for everything except maths, which has crazy accelerants.

Bio: 80.79%
Chem: 86.4%
Drama: 83.25%
English (Advanced): not too sure but about 86%
IPT: 80.3%
Maths: 80.11%

My school, as I've said, is in the top 15 or so. Can someone give me another estimate?

Thanks heaps :)

Re: Update

do you have ranks for each of your subjects? that way we could give you a better approximation
but seeing your school is in the top 15, i would probably say you'll msot likely get around high 80's to low 90s
study ahrd and good luck
