Does particle physics give you a Hadron (Hard one) ?

Top 10 physics pickup lines (some aren't in HSC physics)

10) If I could rearrange the periodic table, I'd put Iodine on top of Uranium.

9) I don't need to be in k-space for my Fermi sphere to vibrate.

8) I'm hung like a Foucault pendulum.

7) Is that a transistor in your pocket? I could use a BJ.

6) Can I put my flux in your loop? I'm tired of settling for self-inductance.

5) I know the spring-constant of my mattress. Wanna take some data?

4) I use my rod of infinite length for more than simplifying calculations.

3) I was an electron in the conduction band I'd jump the gap to fill the hole.

2) I'm relativistic: the faster I go, the longer I last.

1) What's the probability of finding my particle in your box tonight?

When you fall asleep at 4 am while reading the physics textbook lol. Just after 4 thsi morning was reading it all good, woke up at 7 with books, everything around me.

When you watch every sapce shuttle launch/landing through NASA TV. Next one launched Wed (or is it Thurs) altohguh at 8:31 Am and I have to leave earlier.... and icna't take the day off as I've got double maths... They usually lanch 1/2Am out time and i stay up to watch them.

When you name a pet Neutron, Electron or Proton.

When you can remember radii of all plents in solar system, masses of all planets in solar system, go of all planets in solar system, and Earth - Planet distance of all planets in soalr system.

Moar:

  • You're more special than relativity.
  • Wanna dance? I can really put your inertia in motion.
  • As I approach you at near the speed of light, I hope I can experience the time dilation of seeing you for eternity.
  • Let's convert our potential energy to kinetic energy.
  • My last partner wasn't very stable. She spontaneously decayed last week and left me for a neutrino.
  • Let's have a perfectly inelastic collision so I can get stuck in you.
  • If we increase the frequency then i will ignore the period.
  • Hi, I'm astronomer and I've been sent by the department to examine a heavenly body named XGY8... 6... 9'er... Er, wait. That heavenly body is you!

I have a huge list guys.

-you've spent the past half month at a physics camp? generally a dead giveaway.

-you find yourself typing in 'www.shm.com.au' when going to find news
-you accidentally list Avogadro in the contents of your sandwich
-you're dancing and spinning around, and relate it to precession
-you see a loose rope hanging a long way down and can't help but send pulses down it
-you attempt pack your suitcase with its centre of mass and moment of inertia in mind
-you're on the waterslides at a pool, having lost other people, and comment that you're out of phase
-you spend the time in the queue discussing whether mass and surface area affect the frictional force on you
-"let's go on this lower slide now, it's less work. .....get it?"
-before going out to lazer zone, you joke about drawing ray diagrams. In there.
-you can relate most new concepts you learn to some xkcd comic or another

Disclaimer: most of the above weren't actually me.... just my friends.
Your friends kind of suck then. Most aren'y funny. Couple of good ones, but most are lame.

When you get irked whilst watching a ball in motion that's trajectory is not a perfect parabola because you've done so much study for HSC physics that ignoring air resistance has become second nature.

When a train or car brakes hard, you get thrown forward, and the first words out of your mouth are "Damn Inertia!"

When your friend asks you to turn the fans on, you reply that you can explain exactly how that works and launch into a discussion about motors and how they work

When your physics pracs don't work!

when your physics teacher insists that the right hand grip rule is the most useful thing your right hand will ever do.
Your inclined to believe him thinking to yourself "what else could my right hand do??? Other than writing its practically useless"

but good memory, yea i'm pretty sure i mentioned einstein's theory of relativity... why did the mods delete it? its not that spammy is it? haha...

oh and you know you're a physics nerd when...
you start giving your non-physics friends mini-lectures on projectile motion despite many attempts to shut you up... even trying to gag you with food o_O
that sounds more like a confession.... :D

when i was spinning on ice...
i was thinking
- my velocity vector is at right angle to the force vector
- my force is towarding the centre of the circle
- my centripital force is = mv^2/r
- and i know my spinning speed and sideway friction is less than the theorical speed, because I didn't skid off while I spin :)
