That's the traditional one, but I prefer this graphical breakdown based on more contemporary 'Australian' issues.

Then again ideologies are inhibitive and categorise beliefs into boxes where they can be neatly chucked away and dismissed .

Personally, I vaguely describe myself as being left on social issues, and more or less centre on economic issues. I find it hard to identify with the "left", "right", and just about every other political position.

Realistically, it's rare for someone to be very faithful to an ideology without being a fanatic:

"I identify with ideology X. A lot of people who also identify with ideology X are against issue Y. Therefore, I am against issue Y as well."
