Does anyone know if any teacher has the authority to give a student a score of zero in an exam in any circumstance, and what appeal measures are available to the student.

:)

They can give you a big fat zero if you cheat or assist others to cheat, they can also give you a zero if your phone goes off during an offical exam. Don't really think you can appeal..

A teacher can give you a zero if you don't get any answers right. Also if you cheat.

Is cheating classified as going to the toilet without asking although other people do it and only that particular student gets told that?

It could be. ALSO:: at my school you get a zero for
- having a phone/ipod/mp3 with you
- borrowing gear
- if you cheat.

Every teacher has the authority to give you a zero.
And if you think about it, it's perfectly fair. so be good and don't cheat!

I assume you got a zero under those circumstances.

They set the rules, they can bust anyone they want if you break them. Saying "but..but she did it too and didn't get in trouble" is no excuse.

Well... technically they can give u a 0
Most of da time it'll be either
1. got every Q's wrong...
2. you copied plagerized

Usually when caught cheating... teachers will force you to do da test/ assignment again...
+ U get a warning(usually n award).. but you still get watever mark you got in ur 2nd trial of the exam
