of course they're hard!!!

You all thought circle Geom was easy? Think again! some of the harder 3U circle geom is SO HARD!!!

Use the Owain Rowland Jones topic by Topic book to cover the whole range of Harder 3U questions. It's a good book!!!

Most of the last few questions in 4u paper comes from Harder 3u topics. They are hard and takes long time.

Is it worth spending lots of time in them during exams or should i save the time and check over the ones i answered?

Really? More people doing 4U this year, where do you get the figures from?

There are some Induction problems which are pure killer, as well as some psychotic Perm/Comb questions. I can hardly deal with 2U frkn Probability, let alone the probability that 7 people will brush their teeth, and eat 3 peices weet-bix that specific morning out of 50 people!!! Arrrrgggghhhh::mad:

If I read and remember correctly...

from 2000 > 2001, there was a 17% increase
and from 2001 > 2002, there was a further 13% increase

I could be wrong.

Check the BOS (the other BOS) for the real figures)

Syllabus

Just a quick question: Are perm/comb's and trigonometry in the harder 3u syllabus for 4u maths. I downloaded the syllabus from the internet and it only had: cirlce goemetry, induction and inequalities. Fitzpatrick deals with all five (though fiztpatrick is the best book when it comes to following the syllabus), yet Arnold & Arnold only has the three i saw on the syllabus. But many ppl believe that all five are in the syllabus.

SO LIKE YEAH....WATZ DOIN???

:D :D

Perm/comb are hard, but they are very unlikely to be worth big marks in the exam simply due to the nature of the question.

but seriously look out for geometry and induction..........

If you look at the recent HSC papers, you'll see that most of them have a psychotic Probability question in them, so be careful

Probability is the most logical topic ever. I don't know why people hate it so much..
I don't really, I just resurrected a thread from 2002 and couldn't really think of anything interesting to say. Probability is actually one of my favourite topics.
