The answer is A, B, C, or D... Why? Because it's multiple choice.

Oh, the actual answer should be (A), provided that you are on the ground near the wire. I wont explain this to you, until you explain why you tried to take advantage of those posting in the Physics Marathon thread.

sorry im not sure what you mean, but the whole point of the physics marathon is for people to ask questions about stuff they have difficulty with, and i honestly couldnt answer those questions!

Besides if there are no questions how does the marathon continue?!

I'll kindly explain this to you:

1.Good point! The marathon cannot continue without a new question. However, there was a question already posted by either jm01 or me.

2.Well, as you know(or should know), every society or community has a rule whichmust be correctly obeyed by the members constituting the group. AND the rule of the marathon was to ANSWER a question first and THEN ask a new question so that only one questions is being asked at any one time. However, you broke the rule and posted only your question. Then how can I or jm01 not think that you are taking advantage of us who answer them?

3.In conclusion, this incident was purely caused by your 'illegal' action and lack of attitude to follow the rule-well demonstrated by your comment on the marathon thread:

If you do not know what the wrong part of the quote is, it's because you even then seek for just your answer without answering another's first - a sign that you keep breaking the rule.

A: upwards
the magnetic field created by the charged particles inside the transmission line would interact with an external magnetic field (the earth's poles). if the current runs along the equator, then the force would act perpendicular to it.

i.e. right-hand push rule

It should actually be B downwards. That's because the "North" pole, is actually the South magnetic pole, and vice versa.

Oh yeah because the North pole of a magnet should be attracted to the south pole of Earth...

Either that or the North pole on a magnet is a south pole :music:
