Just wondering,

1. Is there a list where we can find out what text books we need for Semester 1?

2. And would we need to have our text books on the first day?

3. What else do we have to bring? Books etc?

If this helps, I'm doing a BCOM-ACCG @macquarie
&first sem i'm doing STAT170, ACST101, ECON110 AND ACCG100

thanks :)

Uni is not like school.

2. The lecturer doesn't care if you have the textbook or not. You do not have to buy it. It's recommended that you do, but if you don't it's not big drama.

3. Notepad and pen. That is all you'll ever need.

But is there a section on either the Macquarie uni site or the coop site that shows recommended books for certain units?

If you go to the Student Portal and sign in, there's a heap of tabs up the top. If you click on the tab that says "Student Information" then on the left there's a box labelled "myUnits" and in there it has the link to the Coop information for each of your subjects.
I'm not very good at explaining stuff but I think that should be good enough.

The list is also now available on campus in the Co-op Bookshop itself.

fuck me, there's like 8 books recommended for one of my units, they don't seriously expect you to have all of them, i cant afford that. Do the lecturers in the first lecture point out which ones would be the most important?

I can't remember the password situation for MyMQ
Yeah usually lecturers put up a whole heap of "recommended" texts, but usually there's a prescribed text as well, where in the textbook status it says "text"

Yes - we need to talk about the AHST unit textbooks... What subjects are you doing, and what does it say you need? I probably spent ~$200 too much on pointless AHST textbooks, and I tend to read most recommended stuff...

Part of the pre-requisites to being an Ancient Historian, you buy books instead of food.
