Do you get credit points for being a member of the student council/rep/org at Uni?

You dont get credit points as its not a subject, or part of the course. Most people do it for the experience, to contribute in some way, make friends, and, the most obvious, it looks good on a resume.

Because you DO get credit points in some overseas tertiary systems, I assumed it was the same here but apparently I am wrong.

I think its variable depending on where you stand in the uni... I know head of the student council basically counts as you having done 12 units.
