The distance from to is:

The distance from to is:

isnt that the definition of an ellipse (PS+PS'=2a)?

although thats 4U

SO when you solve what kurt.physics did it should turn out to be an elipse.

yeah that's what i thought, ellipses should be 4u. i went through this massive thing and then thought i'd check if someone else had solved it and they had. haha.

kurt, can't you only do cosmology in your proper year twelve? when you're doing the rest of your non-accelerated units? i could be wrong, just wondering.

kurt, that would be a lot less messy if you made it d1 = 5 - d2 ..

well cosmology might not run next year (but from what i herd most probably isn't). But there is no rule to which year you do it in, you just have to have finished a HSC subject before your final HSC. But most of the people who do it are in their final year of their HSC mainly because there are more people who accelerate by 1 year compared to those who accelerate by more than 1 year.

If you finish an accelerated subject in Yuar 10 you can still do Distinction Courses. Quite a few people in my grade do Cosmo/Philo.
