If an electron is accelerated by the electric force across a potential difference of 2500V, how much kinetic energy will the electron gain and what will its final velocity be?

The work done by an electron across a potential difference = the charge*potential difference = change in KE

so 2500q = 1/2mv^2 (electron gains 4x10^-16J)

5000*q = mv^2

v = [(5000*q)/m]^1/2

v = 2.97*10^7m/s
