How does attending a dumb school affect my ATAR? (1 Viewer)

I've heard that my ATAR will be reduced because I attend a dumb school.

Highest UAI last year was only 99.1

It'll only affect you if you're ranked poorly in your subjects - the better you're ranked, the less your school affects you.

Exactly, the highest score at my school last year was only 92.3, (and it was mine).

2008 only 23 people got 100, and lol, getting even 98 isnt easy, requires a lot of effort, 99+ is amazing, and think, its out of an odd 65,000~ people, so getting into the top 1% or so of the state is excellent (dropouts not included)

I guess why you're mistaken is because there are a lot of smart people on this forum, it does not include the whole state now does it, just some people and most seem to be smart.

im really worried too about my school. it was ranked 409th last year- dodgy as. im not sure what my ranks are exactly, but theyre something like..

maths= 3rd (out of around 25)
ext maths= 3rd (out of 3)
english= 10th? (out of around 36)
SOR= 20th (out of about 100)
chemistry= 2nd or 3rd ? (out of 16)
biology= 2nd (out of around 16)
business= 5th or 6th (out of about 60)


am i going to be able to get an atar above 90?

what marks are you on? also depends on how the school performs overall and on those above you.

The school were I teach was ranked in the mid-500s last year and had 5 or 6 students with UAI's in the 90s with the top about 97 something.

Even though the school is ranked low the top kids still do fine.

To answer the question I asked 3 years ago, yes, attending a dumb school dragged down my English mark which in turn deprived me of Griffith BSc/MBBS

im hoping for a high 98 or so

my school was ranked 190 or so last year but thios year we are 380 or so

is it possible to get that ATAR. im ranking 1st and 2nd in all my subjects
