What's the deal with the strike next wednesday?

judging by the posters up everywhere saying there's an academic and general staff strike happening on wednesday, i'd say there's an actual strike on. (although that's not to say it won't be cancelled at the last minute like the last one was.)

It's not for all staff though, only those which are members of the union.

Why would she not be paid for it given her employer is the university and not the union?

i assume that since theyre striking against the uni perhaps they won't pay her?

also, she's some ARC research fellow, if that makes a difference...

Im not a member of the union, I assume that means I can still work on that day and get paid for it?

If my classes are cancelled, I might aswell just get some work done.

I said I'd be there soon.
That was 2 hours ago.
They just called me and went off at me coz I'm still not there.
